Cricket Finals
Fri 10 Jul 2026Our girls team travelled to Chudleigh CC this week to compete in the Devon County Finals. Winning all three of their group games they made it through to a nail-biting final where they lost by just ONE RUN! The whole team were fantastic all day showing excellent skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. We had lovely comments from opposition teams who praised our attitudes and were amazed at the standard we played. Superb girls!
A huge thank you to the parents who helped get us there, endlessly filled water-bottles to keep us cool in the heat and took lots of fab photos. These events are only possible with your support.

Aquathlon Fun!
Tue 07 Jul 2026Well done to our pupils who represented us in an aquathlon at St Andrews on Tuesday. What a brilliant event with amazing performances as each child swam and ran. Elodie was first Y3/4, Reuben was 3rd boy while Rufus in Y6 was first boy.
Big thanks to all the parents for getting us there and Mr Jones and his team for organising it! Already looking forward to doing it again next year!

Football's Coming Home (hopefully!)
Mon 06 Jul 2026It was brilliant to welcome everyone this morning for our special 'as-live' screening of Mexico v England! We started in the hall but the internet had other ideas so we decamped to a couple of classrooms! Great atmosphere, great pastries and a GREAT result!

Rights Respecting Schools Bronze: Rights Committed status
Wed 01 Jul 2026We are delighted to share the exciting news that Whitchurch Community Primary School has achieved Rights Respecting Schools Bronze: Rights Committed status.
This is a wonderful milestone for our school and marks the beginning of an important journey as we continue to place children’s rights, pupil voice and respect at the heart of school life. The Rights Respecting Schools Award supports schools to embed the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into their ethos and everyday practice, helping children to understand their own rights and the rights of others.
This achievement has been diligently spearheaded by Mrs Higginson, and we are hugely grateful for the time, energy and commitment she has given to leading this work across the school. Her passion for ensuring that children feel heard, valued and empowered has been central to us reaching this important first stage.
We are incredibly proud of this achievement, but we also recognise that this is only the beginning. We are now excited to continue developing this work further as we begin our journey towards Silver: Rights Aware status.
Over the coming months, pupils will continue to learn more about their rights, responsibilities and how they can contribute positively to their school, local community and wider world. We look forward to sharing more of this work with you as it grows across the school.
