Working with pupils and staff we have developed  “The Whitchurch Way.” This sets out the core behavioural expectations for everyone in our school community and sits alongside our school values of Aspire, Create and Explore, helping children understand how these values are demonstrated in their everyday actions.  

The image below outlines the stepping stones that help pupils understand what excellent behaviour looks like in our school. These stepping stones were developed through pupil voice, where children shared their views about what they believe an excellent Whitchurch pupil should be. This approach helps pupils feel a sense of ownership over their behaviour and the positive culture of our school. 

Alongside this, we have a clear praise structure so that positive behaviour, effort and achievement are recognised and celebrated consistently across the school. This will help pupils understand that making positive choices is noticed and valued.
