At Whitchurch “We Work Together for the Whole Child”.  The curriculum is the key tool that promotes our ideals.  We aspire to the following principles: –

  • All children at Whitchurch to be confident, independent learners.  Children who can think for themselves, ask questions and make good moral choices.
  • All children at Whitchurch to have an appreciation and understanding of their own culture.  Children will be knowledgeable and respectful of other cultures and traditions.
  • All children at Whitchurch understand their responsibility to themselves, their family and the community (local, national and global).  Children will be good citizens.
  • All children at Whitchurch will be supported to develop as compassionate people who have a set of values based on truth, respect, justice, equality and freedom.
  • Children at Whitchurch will be supported to develop a strong sense of well being.

The National Curriculum is a starting point for us to provide a wide and varied learning experience for our children.  We enrich it by our strong ethos based on respect for ourselves and others, equality and a sense of wonder at the world we live in.  We are committed to developing the whole child.  Our children will have the opportunity to be creative, to be physically active and to be academically challenged and to develop a sense of awe and wonder.
